Cleaning a LED TV screen – how to do it without damaging it?
Home entertainment without a television can be boring. Television provides access to information and many great programs. It's also a low-effort way to spend leisure time, of course, until a layer of dust or fingerprints appears on the screen. Cleaning an LED screen is not the same as quickly wiping a table – it requires delicacy, appropriate products, and a moment of patience.
What should you absolutely not use to clean the television?
First of all – a warning. If you have a paper towel or a regular dust cloth in your hand, it's better to put it down. The same goes for liquids containing alcohol, ammonia, or acetone – they usually leave nasty streaks, and in extreme cases, they can permanently damage the protective coating of the screen.
So how to clean an LED screen? Effectively and safely
The best option is a soft microfiber cloth – it doesn't leave lint and collects dirt well. Before you start, turn off the television and wait for the screen to cool down – a warm surface evaporates the liquid faster and leaves streaks.
When the screen is just dusty, a dry microfiber cloth is completely sufficient. Make gentle movements without pressing. If there are larger stains, you can use a special liquid for LED screens. Remember – spray the cloth, not the screen!
How often should the screen be cleaned?
It depends on where the television is located. In places where dust collects quickly, it's good to wipe it once a week. If you have children or pets that often touch the screen – maybe even more often. In less used rooms, every two to three weeks is usually enough. It's also worth tidying up the frames and the base.
Streaks? Don't worry, it can be fixed
If streaks remain after cleaning, it’s likely that too much liquid was used or it wasn't distributed well. Just use a dry microfiber cloth and gently wipe the screen in circular motions.
Take care of the screen and enjoy peace
Cleaning the LED screen is not difficult – just avoid aggressive products, opt for soft microfiber, and act with sensitivity. Regular cleaning will ensure better image quality and a longer lifespan for the television. After all, it's a device that is meant to last for years – it's worth taking care of it.
